My Name is Barb!
Barbara Leatherwood-Gomez is the founder and managing member of Hummingbird Communications, LLC, a firm she established in November 2017. Over two decades ago, she launched her career at Mobil Oil Corporation’s government relations office in Washington, DC. As a Legislative Assistant, she addressed various issues including trade, environment, tax policy, and a range of international subjects.
In 1995, Barbara transferred to Mobil’s headquarters in Fairfax, VA where she served as an Issues Management Advisor. She prepared briefing materials for the CEO and other C-suite executives. In 1998, she moved to New Orleans, LA to become the Public Affairs Advisor for Mobil Exploration and Production U.S. In this role, she supported on- and off-shore operations in the region, managing large-scale, high-profile stakeholder engagement activities in Louisiana and Alabama.
